Danwar (दनुवारी)

Danwar is a Bihari language spoken in central and eastern Nepal by about 48,650 people, particularly in the inner Terai and lower hills. In some areas Danwar is spoken by people of all ages, but in others there is a shift to Nepali, particularly among younger people, and the language is not being passed on to the children in some families.

Danwar is also known as Danuwari, Danwar, Denwar, Dhanuwar, Dhanvar, Dhanwar, Donwar or Kacarya Danuwar. It is closely related to Bote-Darai. Dialects include Kochariya, Done Danuwar, Dukuchhap Danuwar and Dolbar Danuwar

Transliteration

sabhe mānhuksab pratiṣṭā ā adhikārak ādhāram janmajāt swatantra ā samān habacho. okarsik buddhi ā wiwek li-ik āil rahcho ā ek akārpakhā āpanpanak wyabahār karparto.

Translation

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
