Athpare (आठपहरिया‎)

Athpare is an Eastern Kiranti language spoken by about 5,500 people in the municipality of Dhankuta (धनकुटा) in Dhankuta District in Province No. 1 in eastern Nepal.

Athpare is also known as Athpariya, Arthare, Athaphre, Athapre, Athpahariya, Athpre or Sanango Ring. It is closely related to Belhariya, which is spoken in the same area, although the two languages are not mutually intelligible.

Athpare is written with the Devanagari alphabet. It is taught in some schools, and is used in the media and literature.
