Dhundari is a member of the Rajasthani branch of the Indo-Aryan language family. It is spoken in the Dhundhar region of Rajasthan state in the northeast of India, specifically in the districts of Jaipur, Karauli, Hindaun, Sawai Madhopur, Dausa and Tonk. In 2011 there were about 1.48 million speakers of Dhundari, which is also known as Dhundari-Marwari, Jaipuri or Marwari.
Dhundari can be written with the Devanagari alphabet, although it is rarely used in writing. It has no official status in India, and is considered a dialect of Rajasthani. It is not used in schools, but is widely spoken, especially in and around Jaipur.
