Digaro Mishmi (Taraon)

Digaro Mishmi belongs to the Central Tibeto-Burman branch of the Sino-Tibetan language family. It is spoken by about 45,000 people mainly in northeast of India in the Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh, and in the Dibang Valley district of Assam. There are also speakers in China in Zayü County (察隅县 / རྫ་​ཡུལ་​རྫོང་​།) in Nyingchi (林芝市 / ཉིང་​ཁྲི་​གྲོང་​ཁྱེར།) in the southeast of the Tibet Autonomous Region.

The language is also known as Darang Deng, Digaro, Digaru, Mishmi, Taaon, Taraon or Taying. It is usually written with the Latin script, but can also be written with the Devanagari script.
