Bilaspuri is a member of the North-Western branch of the Western Pahari group of Indo-Aryan languages. It is spoken by about 295,800 people in the Bilaspur district of Himalchal Pradesh and in the Rupnagar district of Punjab state in northern India.
Bilaspuri is also known as Kahluri (कहलूरी), Pahari, Himachali, Bilaspuri Pahari, Kehloori Pahari, Kehluri or Pacchmi. It is classified by the Indian government as a dialect of Punjabi.
Bilaspuri is written with the Devanagari alphabet. In the past it was written with a version of the Takri script.
