Central Teke (Tɛgɛ)

Central Teke is a Bantu language spoken by about 65,000 people in southeast of the Republic of the Congo and southwest of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). It is spoken in particular on the lower reaches of the Congo river in the Pool Malebo region in Plateaux and Pool departments of the Republic of the Congo, and in Bandundu Province in the DRC.

Central Teke is also known as Bamboma, Boma, Boo, Boõ, Eboo Teke, Eboom, Iboo, Teke-Nzikou, Teke-Boma or Teke-Eboon. Dialects include Ngungwel, Mpu, Boo and Nzikou. The Ngungwel and Boo dialects have the most speakers.
