Mbere is a Bantu language spoken by about 105,000 people in the Republic of Congo and in Gabon. In particular, it is spoken in the Kelle and Ewo disticts of the Cuvette-Ouest Department of the northwest of the Republic of Congo, and in the Haut-Ogooué Province in the southeast of Gabon.
Mbere is also known as Ambede, Limbede, Mbede Mbete or Ngwii. Mbere speakers call their language Limbede.
Mbere is written with the Latin alphabet using an orthography created in 1990 and based on l'Alphabet scientifique des langues du Gabon (The Scientific Alphabet of the Languages of Gabon).

Mbere has a high tone and a low tone. The high tone can be indicated with an acute accent (á), and the low tone can be indicated with a grave accent (à).
