Yansi is a Bantu language with about 100,000 speakers in the southwest of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), particularly in Bandundu (formerly Banningville or Banningstad), the capital city of Kwilu Province, which is part of former Bandundu Province.
Yansi is also known as Yans, Yanzi, Eyansi, Eyáns, Kiyansi or Iyansi. Yansi speakers call their language Eyansi or Iyansi and themselves Bayanzi. Dialects include Mbiem (West Yansi), East Yans, Yeei, Tsong, Mpur and Tsambaan.
A way to write Yansi with the Latin alphabet was created in 1985, and there is a translation of New Testament of the Bible in Yansi.
