Mbama is a Bantu language spoken by about 25,000 people in the Republic of Congo and in Gabon. In particular, it is spoken in the Bambama District in the north the Lékoumou Region in the south of the Republic of Congo, and to the south of Okondja in Haut-Ogooué Province in the southeast of Gabon
Mbama is also known as Mbamba, Mbere, Ombamba, Mbaama or Mbaamba. Mbama speakers call their language Lembáámá. It is closely related to Teke and Mbere.
A way to write Mbama with the Latin alphabet was devised by Bruno Okoudowa, a linguist and specialist in Bantu languages from Gabon.

Mbama has a high tone and a low tone. The high tone can be indicated with an acute accent (á), and the low tone can be indicated with a grave accent (à).
