Dciriku is a Bantu language spoken along the Kavango (Cubango) River in northeastern Namibia, northern Bostwana and southeastern Angola by about 82,000 people. In particular, it is spoken in the Ndiyona Constituency of the Kavango East Region, and also in the Kavango West, Otjozondjupa, and Zambezi regions of Namibia, in Cuando Cubango Province in Angola, and in the North-West District of Botswana
Dciriku is also known as Gciriku, Diriku, Dirico, Manyo or Rumanyo. There are two diaclects: Gciriku (RuGciriku) and Shambyu (RuShambyu), and it is spoken by the VaGciriku, VaManyo and VaShambyu people.
There are ways to write Dciriku with the Latin alphabet, it is taught and used as a medium of instruction in schools, it appears in some literature, such as school books, and it is used on the radio.
