Gusii is a Bantu language spoken mainly in Kenya and also in Tanzania. In Kenya it is spoken by about 3.2 million people in Kisii, Nyamira and Narok counties in the southwest. There are about 1,470 speakers of Gusii in the Serengeti district of the Mara region in northern Tanzania.
Gusii is also known as Guzii, Kisii or Kosova. The native name is EkeGusii. Most speakers of are Abagusii people.
Gusii is written with the Latin alphabet. It is taught in some primary schools in Kenya, and there is a Gusii dictionary, grammar and a version of the Bible.
