Gawar-Bati (گواربتی بݰہ)

Gawar-Bati is a member of the Dardic branch of the Indo-Aryan language family. It is spoken by about 32,000 people along the Kunar River valley in Kunar province in northeastern Afghanistan, and by about 4,000 people in Chitral District in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkwa in northwestern Pakistan [source]. Other sources give the numbers of speakers as 7,500 in Afghanistan and 1,500 in Pakistan [source].

Gawar-Bati is also known as Arandui, Aranduyiwar, Gowari, Narisati, Narsati or Satre. It is related to Shumashti, Dameli, Savi and Grangali.

Gawar-Bati can be written with the Arabic alphabet, although rarely appears in writing.
