Basaa (ɓasaá)

Basaa is a Bantu language spoken in southern Cameroon by about 300,000 people, particulary in the Nyong-and-Kéllé division of the Centre region, Nkam and Sanaga-Maritime divisions of the Littoral region, in the Océan division of the South region, and in the Menoua division of the West region.

Basaa is also known as Basa, Bassa, Bicek, Bikyek, Bisaa, Mbele, Mee, Mvele, Northern Mbene or Tupe. Dialects include Bakem, Bon, Bibeng, Diboum, Log, Mpo, Mbang, Ndokama, Basso, Ndokbele, Ndokpenda and Nyamtam.
